2008 FALL HARVEST CELEBRATION
We held our first Fall Harvest Celebration on October 25, 2008. The event included a children's pumpkin judging contest, a pickling/canning contest, a mini farmer's market, live radio remotes, face painting, refreshments, and more. Below are a few pictures from the event, which fell of the final day of our Fall Harvest Sale.

from KIXX 100.5 FM. |

Hand-crafted wares from Parris Hill Farm were among the locally made items for
sale at our mini Farmer's Market. |

Local pro Ski Jumper and 2010 Olympic hopeful Nick Alexander was at the event
to raise awareness and support for professional ski jumping. |

Chris proves his Patriots loyalty by having their logo painted (by Molly) on his cheek. |

Green Mountain Pug Rescue was on hand to raise support and awareness for
their wonderful cause. |

In-house face painting extraordinaire Molly puts the finishing touches on Jake's
black bat. Face painting was available to kids at no charge during the event. |

Over 85 different pickling/canning recipes were entered into our competition. There
were six categories plus a Taster's Choice category, which was voted best overall. |

Our five outside judges included (left to right) Paul Boucher, Richard Johnson,
Laurie Harding, Peter Mason, and Doug Birnie, who tasted and scored each entry. |

The judges took time to sample (and many times re-sample) each canned item, basing
their scores on taste, texture/consistency, and color/appearance. |

Over 40 children signed up to participate in our Junior Pumpkin Competition. Shown
here are several of the pumpkins entered to win one of the five categories. |
